Giannis Serafeim is a Mechanical Engineer and a graduate of the National Technical University of Athens (2016). He completed his Ph.D. in 2023 with the dissertation titled

"Multi-disciplinary Design Optimization of Wind Turbine Blades Including Passive Load Control Techniques". His research and professional activities include, among others, floating wind turbine design, aeroelastic analysis, fatigue assessment and Life-Time estimation of wind farms, as well as techno-economic evaluation of complex energy systems. He has developed computational tools that integrate numerical methods and optimization algorithms, aimed at solving high-complexity engineering problems. His professional background includes collaborations with iWIND Renewables S.A. and the Energy Competence Center, as well as participation in European research projects such as INNWIND.EU. He is the creator and lead developer of Opt4Deck, a modular optimization-algorithm platform designed for applications in mechanical design, academic research, and industrial analysis.
